Oh, Bollux

Just a quick follow-up to this afternoon's post...

Ugh. I'm beginning to think that this is NOT going to be a stand-alone B/X supplement, but will in fact require the purchase/use of the B/X Companion. Not because I want to be a jerk, but because some of the spell lists for new spell-casting classes include spells found in that book...and I'm not sure I want to spend the time/space adding them all to the new book.

I'm still debating, though.

  1. Doesn't matter to me, but then, I bought the B/X companion! ;)

  4. I'm relatively new to the "old school revival." In fact, I just bought the Companion last night, and don't have it in my grubby little hands yet.

By all means, make the next product a supplement. If it repeats content, I'm less likely to buy it. If it feels like the "current version, but better," I'm going to have slight buyer's remorse for breaking down and buying the Companion last night.

And if it is B/X Companion, Second Edition, there's going to be ANOTHER old school revival, where people talk about the good old days of the old old school revival. :)

  5. @ Charlie:

Your book is going out in the mail tomorrow morning. The new book is NOT a 2nd edition of the B/X Companion, just some optional add-ons to folks' B/X campaign (think of it as an "Unearthed Arcana" for B/X).
    : )
