Diego Thomas, Born January 19th, 2011

Yesterday was a beautiful full moon in Seattle, complete with a faerie ring on a rainless evening. And my son was born.

My wife was fantastic and a real trooper...about 43 hours of tough labor, but by the end we had a perfectly beautiful baby boy. One day shy of his due date...but, then, I knew he'd be a Capricorn and not an Aquarius (it just didn't make sense otherwise with two Scorpio parents). And him being born the 19th means I win the pool at my wife's office (I'm a fair hand with the numerology, too).

Anyway, we're all exhausted and ecstatic, so you'll have to forgive me if I don't blog more for the next couple-few days.

Regarding the recent superhero stuff, I have more to say (I was reading the excellent RPG "With Great Power..." right up until Monday evening, and considering a blog topic). But right now, I'm enjoying some of those more important priorities of life.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week! Prost!
: )

  15. Yeah, stealth pregnancy. Congratulations! We just became godparents to a little Cappy ourselves--one of my favorite signs. The world can always use more Sea Goats. :)

  16. Congrats! My son was also born on the 19th at Swedish. If you're at Swedish now, then we could be neighbors in post-partum.

  17. Hey, congratulations! Welcome to the club! I've got one of each myself, a girl and a boy!

Many blessings and many years of familial happiness to you!

Incidentally, given your interest in the zodiac, what do you make of this recent development that has people claiming that the dates for the signs have shifted around?

I for one don't care what people say, I will forever be a Libra (October 20th)!

  23. Bah, keep failing the damn Captcha... why the hell do Blogspot blogs use Captcha instead of a spam filter like Wordpress?

    Anyways.

    Ahem.

Congrats. And doubly so to your wife. I watched my (now long ex) girlfriend go through 60 hours of labour and it was hellish.
