It still takes longer (in real terms) to level than it did when I was a teenager. In my AD&D 1e Dragonlance RPOL campaign the players have reached on average 4th level in about 6 months of play. After 11 sessions/3 months of play, everyone pulled in enough XP in last night’s heist to finally reach 2nd level. You could feel the sense of accomplishment from everyone in the room.
